Children’s program

Of course we offer programs for your child.  As long as they are at least 8 years old, we have several ways to get them interested in Scuba diving.

Bubblemaker will allow children 8 years and older to experience their first breath under water. Our trained staff will show your young one the equipment scuba divers use, fit them up with their own gear, and take them for a swim and games under water.  The entire session lasts about 90 minutes, and will give basic principles such as mask clearing and buoyancy control.  It’s a great way to see if your child has an interest in pursuing scuba diving further.

PADI Seal Team

The PADI Seal Team is for young scuba divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by completing exciting AquaMissions. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Beyond learning basic scuba skills, there are specialty AquaMissions, such as wreck diving, navigation, buoyancy, environmental awareness and more. PADI Seal Team includes doing some cool stuff in the pool, meeting friends and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world.  No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water.

Junior Open Water

Has your child been asking to go see all the pretty fish on your tropical vacation?  How about be able to find fishing lures in the lake at your cottage.  If they are at least 10 years old, they can take their first class to become scuba divers.  As a junior scuba divers, they will be able to go diving with you, but are limited to 12 meters (40 feet) with an adult.  They will take the same class, and learn the same skills as the open water class.  If you are not certified yourself, you can even take the class with them.

At 12 years of age, they can dive to 18 meters (60 feet), once again with an adult.

Once they turn 15, they are automatically certified as open water divers, with all the privileges that entails.
